Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in a thrilling game to beat Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-2 , 3-6, 6-3 and win the Australian Open tennis on Sunday.
Lynx eighth seed its way to the coronation title by beating Powell after suffering two Nadal, seeded first obvious because of a back injury at the start of the second set , but the Swiss player then faced the sudden awakening of his opponent in the third set of the match at the Rod Laver Stadium .
Despite the lack of ability to move as required Nadal fought strongly in the third set and fired a barrage of shots to achieve a strong win after his opponent made a number of unforced errors .
With the start of Nadal across the corners of the stadium to catch the ball snatched Wawrinka two break points in the sixth game of the fourth set and hit a forehand thunderbolt to clinch the break .
The Swiss player then missed a stroke sent the troubled powerful forehand went beyond the back line several meters and another blow crossed the line, too.
In spite of this decline Wawrinka was able to recover and hit a blow to gain a new point of break points and the opponents as he landed on the line to get them a chance to settle the game transmitter .
Wawrinka continued to maintain his cool when needed, it sent a strong guarantee for the winning trophy Powell at the level of the Grand Slam forehand .
